Talon is a high-strength, two-pronged fitting designed for overhead distribution systems. Itās used for installing and removing SMD-20 Power Fuses, Type XS Fuse Cutouts, Fault TamerĀ® Fuse Limiters, and TripSaverĀ® Dropout Reclosers. Talon can also be used to open and close disconnects and interrupter switches.
Talonās curled prong provides an upward slope that keeps the fuse from sliding off the end of the hookstick (especially āextendoā sticks). The curled prong features a unique straight section that properly orients the fuse during installation in the mounting.
Talonās straight prong, which is made to the configuration and dimensions set by ANSI for distribution switch sticks, provides a flat surface that is used during fuse-closing operations.
